The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was founded in 1958, the first institution of its kind to benefit from foreign investment (from the USSR). Located in a suburb of Mumbai, the school draws on its international foundations today by fostering and maintaining links with universities around the world. Its Mumbai campus is fully residential, with a staff of 565 and a student body of around 8,000. The institute’s MBAs, executive MBAs and doctoral programmes are based at the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, which was established in 1995.
