Where are professionals most likely to be promoted?

In its latest study, Emolument.com asked 1,950 professionals if they had been promoted in the last five years. Results show that working for a large firm in a well established industry is one of the best way to obtain regular promotions. On the other hand, the very smallest companies appear to be much more conservative when it comes to promotions. Contrary to expectations, gender does not seem to impact promotion patterns.
